Anonymous asked: I think percussion's a lot more difficult than stringed instruments, in some ways. Sure, you have to juggle bowing and fingering and balance the damn thing but, like, with drums and various other percussion things, if you mess up, everyone hears it. Clash cymbals a beat early and everyone looks at you oddly. With the violin, you can just apply vibrato and make it sound like an extended note. Also, is a marimba that one that looks like a xylophone but made of wood? I WANT ONE. MAIL ONE TO ME. D:

They’re both made of wood! A marimba is just like a more majestic, larger, deeper octaved, softer wooded xylophone with longer resonators.

But then again professional percussionists are all like on triangle, hey I just made $300. I WISH I HAD ONE TO MAIL TO YOU. Because. I want like my own personal one to keep forever and ever. Mine is on loan right now.
